Packet over VDSL - Ethernet transport over standard 4-band VDSL
|
Packet over VDSL (PoVDSL) from Infineon
provides Ethernet transport over standard 4-band VDSLby
delivering symmetric 16Mbps or asymmetric 26/3Mbps broadband services at
ranges up to 5000ft (1500m).
The chipset provides a 10BaseT interface designed for Switch/Line card
and CPE applications. It implements FDD and QAM modulation to ensure robust
operation. Its spectral allocation allows noise-free coexistence with other
xDSL technologies in the same bundle.
The PoVDSL chipset features an MII interface (IEEE 802.3) supporting
PTM-TC (HDLC) as per ITU-T G.993.1 standard definition. A PCM transport
is in parallel to PTM traffic. The PoVDSL chipset extends Infineon's Ethernet
service delivery with functionality as a standards-compliant 2, 3, or 4-Band
PHY or MAC depending on the application, with backward compatibility support
for the existing base of 100s of thousands of 10BaseS(TM) VDSL ports.
