@Anno:
DSL chip producers do not normally provide detailed information about the chips (and often associated firmware).
Non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) are usually to be signed beforehand.
So please get in contact with the respective company directly.
However, don't expect any response if there is only a few chips to be ordered later on.

How do I get data sheets, reference designs for ADSL modem chips? Chip manufacturers give you the sales pitch, but no real info.
Distributors do not even recognize the
part numbers.

Hello. I'd just like to inform you that there is now linux support for the Conexant CX82320-13 ADSL chip. So far I have only seen RH, Fedora and Mandrake drivers. The info page about this driver on your site reports: Linux Support: No.
Thanks.

Does modems exist, having at
-WAN side an ATM DSL (ADSL or better VDSL) interface and
- at home side several (at least 2) ATM DSL (ATM ADSL or VDSL) interfaces?
Function: downstream multiplication of all downstream connections on all interfaces. Upstream relay to WAN.
Purpose: switched TV broadcasting over telephone wires.
Thomas:
I haven't heard about such a device yet. However, I'm curious to know if one exists as well. Please keep me posted.

Hi Guys,
i went on google.com (english), did a search for t-online and google gives u the option of translating the german pages into english. The translation is not really good but it lets u understand it at least. Im working my way trying to pick up some German but its good to know i can use that resource. Got to get used to the German keyboard too :)Anyways, i thought i'd pass this info. along.
Thanks Thomas and Bernd for your help, this site is really great!! Tschuss!!

Hi,
i just moved to Germany from the States. Anyone have any info on english translations of T-Online DSL software or manuals.
Also are the DSL systems different here than in the States? I brought my SpeedSream DSL modem and couldnt use it :(
Any advice or thoughts is appreciated
Evan
Thomas:
The subtle difference between the american and the european DSL systems is the Annex A or Annex B standard conformity.
Mainly the different pilot tones as well as the different split up definitions in the frequency range prevent interoperability.
I am currently not aware of modems which can switch between those two modes of operation. Please let me know when you come across one.
As for english documentation, the only one you usually get is an short english user manual together with the Telekom modems.
Again, if you find online available documentation or installation help, please drop a line and I will add it on my Link page.

Hey, thanks for putting this resource together. I used to work at 3Com, supporting their CoreBuilder 7000 and 9000 ATM Switches, and developped for the PathBuilder 300, 600, 700 ATM Access Switches. I can regretfully assure
you that 3Com divested itself of all that business (along with all their other enterprise products) in March 2000. They had also dropped the 3C975 (after they OEM'ed the 3C971 from Efficient Technologies) around 1999.
I think this web site is more important than ever for those of us who still believe ATM is the right way to do
scalable multimedia networking. I'll send my input whenever I have something. Thanks again.
Jean.
