    SBus ATM Adapter

    The 4615 provides full duplex ATM connectivity for virtually all Sun SBus platforms from 600MP Servers to the SPARCcenter 2000. The adapter supports SunOS 4.1.3 and Solaris 2.3 or greater. Because network managers have a substantial investment in cable plant, ATM adapters must provide broad support for installed cable. The Interphase 4615 SBus ATM adapter can connect stations over ATM using multimode fiber, single-mode fiber, or Category 5 Unshielded Twisted Pair copper cable. Features are:

    • Provides a Full Duplex, 100 Mbits/sec or 155 Mbits/sec ATM Network Connection
    • Support for SunOSª and Solaris¨ on Most Sun Systems
    • Multimode Fiber, Single-mode Fiber, and UTP Copper Media Options
    • Connectivity to Existing Legacy LANs via ATM Forum-compatible LAN Emulation and RFC 1577 (Classical IP over ATM)
    • ATM Forum UNI 3.0/3.1 Signaling
    • Supports Up to 2,048 User Configurable Virtual Channel (VCs)
    • Traffic Shaping via Cell Scheduling and VC-independent Buffering
    • Hardware-based (Segmentation and Reassembly) SAR for Enhanced Performance
    • Performance ASICs Deliver Optimum DMA Transfers Without CPU Intervention Allowing Maximized Performance When Network Demand is High
    • 1MB Packet RAM for Maximum Performance Under Heavy System Load
    • CellViewª Graphical Management Software
